Held under the rules of ASA and ASWD. All competitors must comply with the rules, regulations and instructions given by officials, marshals and traffic officials. Non- compliance may lead to disqualification. The Race Referee's decision id final. The race Organizer reserve the right to accept/reject any entry received.

Club Colours: Athletes must participate in their correct club colours and display the ASA 2009 licence numbers on the front and back of the vest. All other runners must display temporary numbers. No advertising allowed.

Cut-off time: 65km = 8 hours; 32km = 4 hours

Distance markers: Will be placed at every kilometre.

| Foreigners: All foreigh athletes must comply with IAAF rule 142 and 4.2. Foreign athletes must be able to produce a letter from their respective federation permitting them to participate on race day. |
| Minimum Ages: 32km = 19 years; 65km = 20 years. Athletes must show their ID's on the request of the Race Referee. |
| Race Numbers: As given by the race organizers must be displayed on the front of the vest. The 2009 licence numbers must be worn on the back. |
| Refreshment tables: Water tables will be placed at 3km intervals. Water and Coke (or powerade) will be available at the finish. |
| Road: Athletes must stay on the right hand side of the road at all times, unless instructed differently by the race organizer. |
| Safety: No dogs or racers allowed |
| Seconding: No cyclists or private vehicles will be allowed on the route. No seconding will be allowed except for 100m on either side of refreshment station. |
| Tags: Age group category tags and walker tags must be worn visibly front and back to qualify for age category or walker prizes. Athletes with temporary licenses and the correct category tags will qualify for prizes. |
| Temporary licences: Will be available to runners who are not members of a club at the cost of R15.00 |
Transport: No Transport will be provided.
